National Voluntary Blood Donation Day 2021

National Voluntary Blood Donation Day will be celebrated on Friday, 1 October 2021.

Donating blood or its components to a needy person has become a very important part of humanity in the modern health care system.

It does not matter who is the donor of blood and who is the recipient of blood, in the future it is also possible that the donor may become a recipient of blood and in the coming time, the recipient of blood may become a healthy donor.

That is why donating blood without any desire is a great and important part of humanity in the process of saving lives.

Don’t donate blood only to your friends and relatives, but voluntary blood donation is the real humanity for any human being because it can save many lives.

The objective of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day

  • To make all the people across the country aware of the importance of voluntary blood donation.
  • To successfully achieve the goal of voluntary blood donation to meet the urgent need of needy patients.
  • Collection of blood in the blood bank for any urgent and urgent need.
  • Encouraging blood donors through many thanks and giving importance to their self-esteem.
  • To motivate and encourage those people who are not taking interest in donating blood even after being healthy.
  • To encourage those people to donate blood voluntarily who donate blood only to their friends and relatives.

Importance of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day

An adult person has an average of 10 units of blood in the body, out of which a person can donate one unit of blood.

But due to lack of awareness, the person is afraid or hesitant to do blood donation.

Just imagine, our country requires about 120 lakh units of blood every year, but only 90 lakh units of blood are available.

In such a situation, the country is facing a shortage of 30 lakh units of blood. Whereas more than 38000 blood units are required every day.

Blood is a very important element in human life as it provides vital nutrition for the tissues and organs of the body.

National Voluntary Blood Donation Day is celebrated to bring a great change in society, to follow life-saving measures, and to overcome serious illness, childbirth-related complications, road traffic accidents, and many contingencies due to violence and injury.

Safe blood donation every year saves the lives of people of all ages and levels. The states of Tripura, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Maharashtra are considered at the national level as voluntary blood donors.

An adult person has 5-6 liters of blood in his body. And the good thing is that this amount of your blood can be donated at least four times a year.

That too without any physical harm. In other words, a healthy human being has about 10 units of blood. Out of which he can donate one unit of blood (350 ml) comfortably. A regular blood donor can donate blood again after three months.

Blood is made up of four types of elements – Red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. When a person donates blood, within two to three days, plasma is rebuilt in his body.

Whereas red blood cells can take one to two months to form. In this way, a person can donate blood again after three months.

National Voluntary Blood Donation Day

Voluntary Blood Donation Day is celebrated every year. For this, camps are being set up in different parts of the country. Another goal of the camp is to spread awareness about blood donation. Assistants also have a role in this regard.

The Red Cross organization has always been active in this direction. Blood is collected with the help of doctors and nurses.

Before donating blood, the donor’s weight and health are checked. Care should be taken that the blood of a person infected with any infectious disease is not taken. By using the properly collected blood, the goal of blood donation day will be achieved.

It is very necessary to celebrate this day on a great level to remove the ignorance, fear, and misconceptions of the general public about the voluntary blood donation campaign.

Voluntary organizations are paying their valuable time and using their resources to encourage the students/youth of the country, colleges, institutions, clubs or NGOs, etc.
